Today, much is said about such a disease of society as bad habits. Unfortunately, although in general there is a lot of talk about the harm that smoking and drinking bring, few people think to explain in detail and objectively the physiological harm that these drugs bring, which is one of the reasons for the low effectiveness of propaganda.
As practice shows, only a detailed explanation of the effect that nicotine and alcohol have on the body can convince a person to give up drinking alcohol and tobacco poison.
What effect does alcohol consumption have? As is known, such bad habits as drinking beer, wine, vodka, cognac and other alcoholic beverages take about 700 thousand of our compatriots per year. Just think about it - this is the population of a large city!
So, every person who has ever consumed alcohol in his life is familiar with the feeling of dizziness that occurs after taking a certain amount of alcohol. Some people find it funny and even pleasant. However, this seems harmless only to those who have no idea about the mechanism of such dizziness. In fact, it is accompanied by a complex and very dangerous process. After all, alcohol is an excellent solvent - it is used to clean surfaces from fat - and, getting into the blood through the walls of the stomach, it easily dissolves the fatty grease that covers the red blood cells that carry oxygen to every cell of the human body. Having lost the grease, the red blood cells stick together, creating a semblance of a bunch of grapes. Such an accumulation of red blood cells is not able to penetrate the thin capillaries that lead to the cells of the brain - neurons. The "bunch" simply clogs this capillary, never delivering the necessary oxygen to the neuron. Because of this, after a while, it simply dies. Mass death of neurons (conscious and voluntary destruction of the brain!) is accompanied by the same dizziness. The familiar morning headache is a consequence of the death of brain cells, and "dry mouth" is caused by the fact that the body throws all excess fluid to remove dead cells, thus avoiding their decay and decomposition. Therefore, it becomes clear that bad habits and human health are simply inextricably linked.
Nicotine works in a similar way. Everyone knows that it is a poison. The body easily recognizes it and, of course, tries to minimize the risk of poisoning the body. Therefore, all cells reflexively contract so as not to let this poison through to the holy of holies - the brain. Since the capillaries in the brain are one of the smallest vessels, this leads to the same effect as alcohol - red blood cells cannot penetrate to neurons and they die. That is why people who are not used to smoking experience dizziness. This is the effect that bad habits, which everyone has long been accustomed to, have on the human body. On average, an active smoker and drinker lives 10-25 years less than a person who completely refuses these types of poison. Of course, teenagers' bad habits are much more dangerous - a fragile organism resists alcohol and tobacco poison even worse
Arrows show the ischemia zone (reduced nutrition of the brain area) - this is what bad habits lead to
An even more terrible impact is exerted by human bad habits on subsequent generations. Any doctor will confirm that a woman is given one set of sex cells (eggs) for life, unlike a man, in whom this set is completely renewed in a few months. Therefore, a woman who has drunk any amount of alcohol at one time in her life retains the possibility of giving birth to a disabled child for the rest of her life. As statistics show, about 90 percent of sick (physically and psychologically) children are born in families in which one of the parents or both are evil.consumed with bad habits. Alcohol, getting into the blood, affects healthy cells, either destroying them or making them damaged and inferior. If blood containing alcohol gets to the female egg cells and affects them, this is the most dangerous. After all, if the affected egg cell is fertilized, the child will definitely be born sick. Even if a healthy cell is fertilized (even if it is a woman who drinks occasionally), the child's immunity will be weakened. Even more terrible consequences have alcohol consumption and smoking for pregnant women. A huge bouquet of dangerous diseases can become a lifelong companion of such children. So it is foolish to argue with the fact that parents' bad habits and the health of future children are directly related to each other.
Today, real prevention of bad habits in our country, if it is carried out, is mostly carried out by enthusiasts who themselves have realized the effect of bad habits and their influence, and then try to convey them to their loved ones. Alas, such propaganda has not been put on an industrial stream that could really bring a noticeable effect.
But this is very important. It is easier to eradicate the bad habits of teenagers than the habits of adults - children perceive such information more easily and learn it faster. But, of course, it is better to work ahead - to explain the harm of such habits in advance.
Unfortunately, today all prevention comes down to a few posters with obscure inscriptions. At best, doctors come to schools, universities and large companies who themselves have little understanding of such a science as sobriology (the science of sobriety). Alas, their knowledge rarely goes beyond the standard knowledge given in biology textbooks. For truly effective prevention, it is desirable to involve highly specialized specialists working in this particular field, providing living examples and statistics, as well as a detailed description of all the processes that alcohol consumption and smoking trigger in the body.
